A small team of which I was privileged to be a part, recently made this funny commercial at Aatma Studios in SF, with Mekanism.
It’s on TV and in theaters as of mid-January.
I did look dev, lighting, shading and compositing for the entire ad.
Besides me there were 4 animators, 1 rigger, 2 modellers, a lead TD and a producer.
Here’s the American version:
And here’s the French version! Even funnier!
I was a compositor on the feature film “The Darkest Hour”, which released in theaters on December 25, 2011. The movie was shot in stereoscopic 3D and I composited most of the shots of the aliens landing.
In 2010 I was a digital artist for the documentary film Butterflies and Bulldozers. This film tells the story of the unique natural habitat of San Bruno Mountain and the fifty year fight to protect it from developers. It deals with the global dilemma of economic growth versus species preservation. I animated the openning title sequence and other graphics thoughout the film.
In 2009 I was a digital artist for the documentary film series Saving The Bay, narrated by Robert Redford. This series is a public education project designed to raise awareness about San Francisco Bay — its evolution, how we almost lost and then saved the Bay, and how we are planning the future of the Bay. I animated and helped design the openning title sequence, as well as many of the graphics thoughout the film.
In 2008 I was a lighting and shading TD on the feature film You Don’t Mess With the Zohan. I created shaders and lighting to match CG to live action plates.
In 2007 I was a lighting and shading TD on the feature film The Last Mimzy. I created shaders and lighting to match live action plates. In addition, I animated the motion for the box opening in the kid’s bedroom (part of which is shown 34 seconds into the trailer below).
