This is a demonstration video for a tool I made that automates the creation of “back to beauty” mini-comps in Nuke. Handy for adjusting light-selects and/or AOVs separately, then comping them “back to beauty”.
A custom dialog makes it easy to select the layers you want to separate and optionally choose a backdrop. You can filter by partial layer name. Click a layer and shift-click another to select all the layers between them.
To the left of the stream, layers are then shuffled to RGB, and then comped back into the stream to the right.
If you add more layers later, the backdrop automatically resizes to accomodate them.
Coded with Python and Pyside.
